I have a drawer full of them, but I think they are too small for your frame.
Some even have wood handles!
This is what happens when don't clean your bike enough.

Yep...The Truth Hurts .

An inner voice tells me that there's more to the story than simply stating, "this happened today while pedaling from communication Law class."

More likely, "this happened today while bunny-hopping a bench while pedaling from communication law class.

Even better: "this happened today after communication law while pedaling from a dozer D8 Catepillar on the construction site of the future Mammel Hall."

Most likely: "this happened today while pedaling down five flights of stairs at the college of business administration building after communication law class.

Consider yourself lucky. Some people pay top dollar for this kind of fork.

You just saved a ton of cash.

I wonder if Biker Bob could still true a wheel with that fork. I bet Munson could.

I can help you measure the rake and crown to axle length to find a close replacement. They've got a few 700c steel forks down at the coop, which should help prevent catastrophic failure in the future (that was aluminum right?).

I'm glad you're alright, catastrophic fork failures can be just that.

or just throw a new surly steamroller fork in there, and get that crowned steel goodness.

that's pretty sweet.

let me guess, front end started feeling all wonky, and you were like, WTF, something feels wierd, and then donk, woah! my tires dragging on my fork, wtf...WTF!!!

let's see, threaded 1"??? replacements are dirt cheap, won't find much anything of quality new unless you go ultra highend. Co-op might be worth a try, otherwise you can probably track down a Tange replacement for $65 or so.

this is what i'm thinking
http://www.ebikestop.com/surly_steamroller_fork_1_black-FK3001.php

it's 1", and through threadless will work fine--especially since you keep the quill low anyway, it'll be much more rigid and an upgrade. chris king sells a package to convert from threaded to 'less.

i never thought i'd recommend such a thing, but it makes sense here.

Yeah, that looks like a bad combo for a for that gets used well. Steel steerer with aluminum legs. At least that's what it looks like with all that rust showing.

Wish I had a spare one for ya buddy. Hope you find one.

EB, we've got a Tange road fork in stock, chrome, 1" x 213mm threaded. It's yours for $25.

Eww, CHROME!
Major style points!

That fork would be great for wheel trueing. You can even bolt a rear wheel in there now. ;-)

mod, he's got a threadless fork in there right now.

Yogi Berra once said that when you come to a fork in the road, take it!
